: I remember hitchhiking to Rockaway Beach so so so many times, how stupid were we????

: : : I believe the last dairy farm was on Wortman past Ashford towards the industrial section. My friend Frank Robidas used to be a pasturizer there. Do you remember when the horses got out and were wandering down Linden Blvd??

: : : : Who reemmbers the last dairy farm in Brooklyn that was at the corner of Vermont and Stanley. It was owned by the Wenk family? Also, does anyone remember a horse corral that was within walking distance of the Projects? I have a vague (very!) memory of riding ponies in the area in 1958 - 1959. Lastly - remember the milk machines and a quart only cost 25 cents!!

: : I remember that dairy farm!
: : I lived at 187 Wortman Ave. and as I walked towards Linden Blvd, I could catch a "whiff" of REAL cows! I also remember junk yard dogs, trampolines, the seltzer man, and walking in the snow to TJHS from Linden Blvd because every bus passed me by. I remember hitching to Rockaway Beach.
I hitch hiked to Rockaway with you and Mona Hauptman, Janice Geerer, Gail Workman, Marsha WEiss, I certainly do recall the dairy - Joyce Spearman and Harriet Stolzenberg lived in the buildings across the street. Do you also recall the park we walked by on the way to ps 213?
