: These 3 guys were mainly the only 3 policemen who seemed to patrol all of Boulevard housing during the 60's.( It was rare to see NYPD officers on Boulevard Housing turf.). These 3 guys were always on foot patrol , but worked on separate shifts, carrying only their night stick and never had a police radio.. Jonesy, Eddie and Harold were the crime stoppers, law enforcers and protectors of the thousands of residents of Boulevard Housing. However, these 3 officers seemed to have their law enforcement priorities a little mixed up. They . seemed possessed with one thing--issue warnings and summonses(usually a couple of dollars) to any youngster playing on the grass, or hanging out near or in the 1st floor lobbies of the buildings during the cold winter, and of course for riding a bicycle anywhere on Housing Authority property.(Ironically, today most Housing officers ride on a bicycle as part of their routine patrol.). When you were a kid between the ages of 10 and 16, any one of these officers were always somehow nearby ready to pounce on you at a minutes notice with their pen and summons book.
: By 1970, several buildings started Tenant Patrols through the cooperation of the Housing Police with the purpose of detering crime. One evening, while on his nightly patrol with a partner, Officer Eddie came by to say good bye because his retirement plans were approved. He said things around here had changed damatically over the past couple of years. He said that this place was once truly a paradise to work and live in. In the good old days, serious incidents were very few and far between.. He yearned for the days in which the his only concerns were he had a pen that worked properly and the he spelled names correctly in his summons book. I guess the residents of Boulevard are not the only ones who have fond memories of a great community.

: OFFICER JONES (JONESY) WAS A KEYSTONE COP!!!!
