: I was really saddened to hear about Miss Olanoff dying. She really was a wonderful music teacher. She also had a great sense of humor. She once asked Jacky Shikira (sp) how he would say that she wears sun glasses and he answered "Big Mama wears shades." Stunned silence in the room -- and then she simply cracked up. Amazing -- I am a fifty year old school teacher -- and I remember that moment clearly. Great teachers never die -- nor do they fade away. :-)

we're practicing for graduation exercises-1960- and the entire auditorium is filled with students singing some song. olanoff prior to the practice tells everyone , dont be funny and mispronounce any words. i sing the word "boid" and out of 900 people in the auditorium she catches me and kicks me out. great woman. i'm also trying to find out about mrs costidis
