I only can say I remember going there once and saw Blood, Sweat & Tears with a relatively unknown opening act...this band labeled as a Blues/Jazz type band called Jethro Tull. I hated them after that show, although they eventually became one of my favorites thereafter. As for the Academy, can't remember who I saw there, but was there a few times, never did get to Woodstock, did go to see the Allmans at Roosevelt Stadium in beautiful Jersey City for a 6 hour show.
