The girl was not raped, but rather, abducted and almost raped. I think she was younger than 7. The man got scared and ran away because he heard a dog barking. My friend and I saw the alleged rapist running down the steps and across the circle through 300. In the end, as I recall, they caught the guy but the case against him was thrown out because no one had seen him actually attack the girl. Afterwards, people saw him all around the neighborhood --at Church, the Laundromat, all along Stanley Avenue. I often wonder how the little girl is and if the man ever got caught committing another crime.
