Try the saurkraut pirogon boiled at Kiev on 2nd avenue and 7th street, you won't be dissapointed, the lima bean soup on saturday's is pretty good as well. And the challah bread.
: I remember Famous on Eastern Parkway! It was one of my family's favorite places. Of course as a kid, I only had eyes for the potatoe pirogen, boiled, and served with apple sauce, yum!

: You mentioned vegetable cutlets and kash varnishkes, you can still get them at Ratner's on Delancey Street. The food's good and they have great rolls also. The soup's good too.
