About Ellen Datlow
Ellen Datlow has been fiction editor of OMNI since 1981. She has earned a reputation for encouraging and developing a whole generation of fiction writers, and is responsible for discovering and publishing some of the biggest names in the SF, fantasy, and horror genres today. The writers Datlow has brought to the pages of OMNI include such talents as William Gibson, Pat Cadigan, Dan Simmons, and K.W. Jeter, Clive Barker, Stephen King, William Burroughs, Ursula K. Le Guin, Jonathan Carroll, Joyce Carol Oates, Peter Straub, and Jack Cady, among others.

She has edited Blood is Not Enough (Ace), A Whisper of Blood (Ace), Alien Sex (Roc), Little Deaths (Millennium/Dell Abyss), Off Limits: Alien Sex Tales (Ace), Twists of the Tale: A Book of Cat Horror (Dell), and Lethal Kisses (Orion [UK]), as well as a series of anthologies of retold fairy tales -- Snow White, Blood Red; Black Thorn, White Rose; Ruby Slippers, Golden Tears; and Black Swan, White Raven -- with Terri Windling (published by AvoNova) and the World Fantasy Award-winning series The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror (St. Martin's, also with Terri Windling). She has also edited several Omni reprint anthologies. The British edition of Little Deaths won the 1995 World Fantasy Award for Best Anthology, and Datlow has won the the World Fantasy Award in the Special Award-Professional category for her editing.

Sirens and Other Daemon Lovers, an erotic fantasy anthology co-edited with Terri Windling, will be published by HarperPrism this fall.

Datlow has taught at Clarion West, the Brockport Writer's Forum, and the Suncoast Writers Conference, and has given seminars on magazine publishing, science fiction, and horror.
