Introduction

Hildegard Kron has been the Art and Photo Editor for Omni magazine since its first issue in October 1978. She has also been Photo Editor of Viva and Longevity magazines, and currently is Art and Photo Editor of Penthouse magazine.

Says Hilde Kron:

"Besides photography, I've had a keen interest in the illustration and art that appears in Omni. Since the inception of the magazine we have used fine art in pictorials and to illustrate our fiction and certain nonfiction articles, as well as covers. Our sources have been endless: painters from the California Visionaries to the Viennese Fantastic Realists, the great science fiction artists, computer graphics artists, and many, many fine photographers--artists from the United States, Germany, and France.

"Now that Omni is online, I have the pleasure to present many of our past and future friends here in this electronic space. I hope you will enjoy seeing these artists again in this exciting new medium, which I believe is one of the first arts galleries of its kind. We will present two or three artists and photographers in a show and will bring you new shows every few weeks.
