Physician Joseph MacInnis has spent the last 35 years studying the relationships between humans and the sea. He was the first person to dive under the North Pole, and among the first to dive to the Titanic. He has written articles for Scientific American and National Geographic. The most recent of his six books on the ocean is Fitzgerald's Storm: The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, published by Thunder Bay Press, 1997.
