Members of the forensic panel that looked into the Titanic tragedy for The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers report here on what really went down. Participants include microbiologist Roy Cullimore of the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, who has toured the wreckage; William H. Garzke, Jr., a naval architect with Gibbs & Cox, Inc., who co-authored the paper "Titanic: Anatomy of a Disaster"; and David Wood, manager of the Structures Department at Gibbs & Cox and co-author with Garzke of the Titanic paper.

Physician and deep-sea explorer Joseph MacInnis has spent the last 35 years studying the relationship between humans and the sea. He's also landed on the deck of the Titanic in a Russian submarine. In this chat, he will discuss the science and technology behind finding and exploring deep sea wrecks.
