: Does any one remember, Izzy the Knish man who used to sell the greasy knishes near the train station on Pennsyvlania Avenue, the greasier the better and the Kosher Deli corner of Pennsylvania and Livonia Avenue, how about when Fortunoff used to be on Livonia Avenue, the Jeff field, the bonfires, the best pizza on new lots avenue, the Biltmore theatre, you went on Sat afternoon no matter what was playing. The circle in the Linden Projects. The YMHA on Linden Boulevard, what ever happened to the bands that played there, Mike Denson and the other names elude me. The teachers at PS 190, Mrs. Lund, the teachers at JHS 166, Miss Kennedy who always told you to get out of the room when we mis-behaved. Those were the days...SHERRY CENER

I remember alot of that stuff but apparently a few years after your time. I stayed in that area for 5 years with my aunt. I think the YMHA becane the BRC Brownsville recreation center; and I live for knishes, even though I live too far away to get them as often as I like them. My grandgather took us to delancey street to shop and hit the deli's. I went was bussed out to ps 195, great school.
