Martin Caidin wrote CYBORG which inspired the two hit television series, The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman. Caidin is also the author of MAROONED (later an Oscar-winning film) and more than 150 other books on various subjects -- with a strong emphasis on rocketry, astronautics and space flight. His many honours include the James Strebig Memorial Trophy from the Aviation/Space Writers Association, the Master Aviator & Pioneer Aviator award from Silver Wings, the coveted Brewer Aerospace Education Trophy, the Best Warbird Reconstruction award from the Experimental Aircraft Association, and numerous other awards from the Air Force, Army, Navy, NASA, and other U.S. and foreign government agencies.In April 1996, at the celebration of 35 Years of Americans In Space sponsored by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, Martin Caidin received a lifetime recognition award presented by NASA, which has permanently inscribed his name on the "roll of honour" at the press site at Kennedy Space Center
