About Dr. Gayle Delaney

Dr. Gayle Delaney is the bestselling author of LIVING YOUR DREAMS, BREAKTHROUGH DREAMING, and SENSUAL DREAMING, and is also the creator of the innovative DREAM KIT published by Harper Collins. In her extensive work as a radio talk show host and nationwide TV and radio spokesperson, Dr. Delaney emphasizes the importance of public education in the practical application of nocturnal problem-solving, as well as the use of unconscious thought processes for teaching problem-solving assessment and decision making skills. Her books are used at the Stanford University School of Business, where she has lectured, in addition to Johns Hopkins University, the University of California San Francisco Medical School, and the C.G. Jung Center in New York. Dr. Delaney also consults and lectures at corporations such as Foote, Cone, & Belding; Bank of America; Chevron Corporation; and Safeway Stores, Inc. on the creative and problem solving power of dreams.

Dr. Delaney and Loma K. Flowers, M.D., are the directors of the Delaney and Flowers Dream Consultation Center which conducts training programs for professional and lay people in the practical understanding of dreaming. In addition, Delaney is the founding president of the Association for the Study of Dreams, an interdisciplinary, international organization dedicated to bringing recent developments in the field to the attention of a broader professional and general audience. ASD encourages research and quality in a subject too often abandoned to the superstitious.

An assistant professor of psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, Dr. Delaney earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Union Graduate School in Cincinnnati, Ohio in 1977. As an undergraduate, she attended Princeton University, where she graduated summa cum laude in 1972. In 1975, Delaney earned her masters in psychology from California State University at Sonoma, which honored her in 1992 with their Distinguished Alumna Award.
