Dr. Denise L. Faustman
Developer of advanced transplantation technology

We had a chat with her on Wednesday, August 27, 1997. You can read a transcript here.

Dr. Denise L. Faustman is credited with inventing a novel transplantation technology sometimes called designer cellular transplants or donor antigen modified transplants, which allows transplantation even between separate species without the high risk of immune-system rejection. Human trials have already begun in which patients suffering from Parkinson's disease received transplants of fetal pig neurons, and so far the results have been extrememly promising.
