Kathleen Ann Goonan was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has published over twenty short stories in venues such as Omni, Asimov's, Fantasy & Science Fiction, and Science Fiction Age. Her first novel, Queen City Jazz (Tor, 1994) was a New York Times Notable Book. Of her second book, The Bones of Time (Tor, 1996), Lucius Shepard says "Time travel, Kamehameha's clone, and eclectic Tibet are all conjoined in this marvelous novel." Mississippi Blues is her third novel. She presently lives in Florida.
