Glimmering
Elizabeth Hand is the author of six novels, including Waking the Moon, which received both the James Tiptree Jr. and Mythopeic Society Awards, and the novelization of Terry Gilliam's film Twelve Monkeys. Her first three novels -- Winterlong, Aestival Tide, and Icarus Descending -- were all finalists for the Philip K. Dick Award, and her novella "Last Summer at Mars Hill" won the 1995 Nebula and World Fantasy Awards. Her short fiction has appeared in numerous magazines, collections, and year's best anthologies, and she has published articles, reviews and literary criticism in The Washington Post Book World, Detroit Metro Times, Science Fiction Age, Science Fiction Eye, and others. With Paul Witcover, she created Anima, DC Comics' critically acclaimed post-punk post-feminist superheroine. Her one-act play, "The Have-Nots," will have its premiere at London's Etcetera Theater this fall. Hand lives on the coast of Maine, where she is working on a novel called The Dead Bell.
