Andrew Leonard is a contributing editor for Wired, a columnist for Salon, and has written about techo-culture for a variety of publications. He lives in Berkeley, California. In his new book Bots: The Origin of New Species, he tracks the primordial stirrings of software robots -- bots -- that will soon be as ubiquitous as cell phones, beepers, and credit cards.
