Dr. Joe Ortega is an active duty US Air Force Aerospace Medicine specialist currently assigned to the Medical Operations Branch at NASA's Johnson Space Center. His duties include astronaut health care, space shuttle mission support, medical systems development and operations for the space station, and medical advisor for lunar return and Mars mission planning.
