The Hellfire Club
Peter Straub was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1943 and is the author of many best-selling novels, among them Ghost Story, Shadowland, Floating Dragon, The Talisman (with Stephen King), Koko, Mystery, and The Throat, which have been translated into 25 foreign languages. He has been honored by the receipt of two World Fantasy Awards, the British Fantasy Award and, by the Horror Writers' Association, of which he is currently a Trustee, the Bram Stoker Award. After living for a decade in Dublin and London, he now occupies a brownstone on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and, while working on a new novel entitled Mr. X, presides over his surprisingly contentious website (http://www.net-site.com/straub/) and makes frequent contributions to an Internet discussion group dedicated to his work (alt.books.peter-straub).
