Welcome to High Strangeness! My name is Patrick Huyghe and our guest tonight is UFO investigator Raymond Fowler, whose new book, "The Andreasson Legacy," has just been published by Marlowe. "The Andreasson Legacy" is Fowler's fifth and concluding volume on one of the most startling abduction cases of all time. It all began one night back in 1967 when Betty Andreasson, her children and parents were visited a group of four foot high, gray skinned aliens. The new book unveils the abductions that followed and details the plethora of paranormal events that often haunt abductees in the aftermath of their experience. Fowler also analyzes all the communications Andreasson had with the aliens in an effort to understand their essential message to humankind.

Fowler's previous books include "UFO: Interplanetary Visitors," "The Watchers" and "The Allagash Abductions." His investigative reports have been published in Congressional Hearings, Military Publications, newspapers, magazines, and professional journals in the US and abroad. Fowler currently serves as national director of investigations on the board of directors of the Mutual UFO Network. His career included a tour with the USAF Security Service and 25 years with GTE Government Systems. He retired early after working on several major weapons systems including the Minuteman and MX Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. In 1970 he built the Woodside Planetarium & Observatory in Massachusetts and has been its director ever since.

Now let's return to the subject at hand . . . Fowler's investigation of the Betty Andressean Affair. This is an enormously complicated case. There were several phases of your investigation into Betty's experiences that took place over the past 20 years. Can you describe each phase and what you learned in each phase?

Phase 1 took place between January 1977 and January 1978. We learned that Betty, without any UFO knowledge, relived a typical abduction in excrutiating detail describing the inside of the ship, its instruments, etc. That her abduction contained a paranormal component, that the entities combined spiritual with their physical technology, that the entities could fade in and out of our dimension, and that she must have had a prior abduction because the aliens removed a device out of her nose.

Phase 2 took place between June 1978 and June 1980. We learned that Betty had childhood experiences in 1944 at age 7, in 1949 at age 12, in 1950 at age 13, and as a adult, in 1961 at age 24, and in 1973 at age 36. That Betty had the implant removed and her eye removed during the 1950 abduction, that the entities brought her to an underground icy installation which was entered via the water. That Betty was told that she was told that she was being taken "Home" to meet The One.

Again, there was a paraphysical component. Betty came out of her body, entered a tunnel, and visited a world of light which was very similar to a near-death experience. We learned that the Nordics, which Betty calls The Elders, and the Greys worked together. We also learned that Bob Luca, her husband, also had a childhood UFO experience in 1944 at age 5 and an adult experience in 1967 at age 29, the very same year that Betty had her abduction.

Phase 3 took place between November 1987 and December 1988. We learned that in 1973, Betty was brought to comfort a human surrogate mother during the birth of two fetuses. We learned that the Greys were actually adult human fetuses grown in an artificial womb, that the Greys, and what appeared to be hybrids, were being raised in a biosphere on the ship. We learned that the reason for abductions and the genetic engineering was because that lifeforms on Earth were becoming sterile. We learned that the aliens were able to predict the future and, among other things, predicted the deaths of two of Betty's sons.

We learned that both Betty and myself received typical punch-biopsy-like scoopmarks during the same week, on or about August 17th, 1988. That the abductions can also occur in an OBE state. That Betty and Bob shared an OBE abduction in 1978 and Betty experienced an OBE abduction in 1986. We learned that the Nordics and the Greys lived in another dimension, that Betty and Bob's children had also been abducted and were seen being operated on during their shared OBE abduction.

Phase 4 took place between November 1992 and April 1994. We learned that Betty was brought to a huge cylindrical mothership in space. We learned that the Nordics have a machine that could look into the past. That during another OBE abduction, Betty saw, but could not communicate with, her daughter Becky, who was training at a console onboard the ship. We learn that Betty visited The One again and that her experience seemed identical to an NDE. I also evaluated Betty and Bob's experiences, conducted a comparative analysis with several hundred other reports, examined ancient legends of The Watchers, and most importantly, examined and recorded the similarites between NDEs and OBE abductions from my research and from Dr. Kenneth Ring's mixed motif NDE cases which were identical to OBE abductions.

Phase 5 took place between November 1993 and February 1995. We learned that Becky had a number of abductions and paranormal experiences since the age of three and that she was undergoing continued training on consoles aboard an alien craft. We learned that both Betty and Bob continued to experience abductions and paranormal phenomena. We learned that sperm taken from Bob in 1967 resulted in a hybrid male child. We found out that a woman chosen randomly with no prior UFO knowledge relived childhood and adult abductions and also bore alien hybrid children. We recorded that the Andreassen, Luca, Fowler families also shared similar UFO and paranormal experiences. We learned that UFO, NDE, and paranormal phenomena are family affairs and may all be constituents of one overall meta-phenomenon.

Your excellent summary raises many questions. To begin with, you differentiate between two types of abductions, physical abductions and abductions that occur in the out-of-body, or OBE, state. Can you explain the difference? And how is an experiencer supposed to know which is which?

The OBE abduction involves a person's essence leaving his or her body and traveling with the entities to their craft. One can tell the difference between the two when the person sees himself or herself leave their body behind. The OBE abductions, most of the time, involve the Nordics alone or with the Greys. There seems to be no difference between the two types of abductions as regarding the scenario that takes place. For example, during the OBE abduction, a physical-type examination may be given the abductee. Instruments that would leave marks on the body of a physical abductee also appear on the body of a person who has had an OBE abduction after they return to the body.

Yes, but I would prefer to refer to my abduction as an abduction experience because I can better relate to that term. I believe that the best single piece of evidence for this is the fact that I have experienced most of the benchmarks experienced by hundreds of others who have had such experiences. These would include: UFO sightings, memories of bedside visitations, with accompanying paralysis, missing time, balls of light in my room, memories of beings of light in my room, dreams of UFOs, abductions, doctors, medical procedures, etc., and then waking to find anomalous bruises, scars on my body, a soreness in my genital area, and even fresh blood stains on my pillow. A feeling of myself being floated from and to my bed, hearing strange humming sounds outside of my bedroom window, dreams of being floated through solid material, electrical items behaving mysteriously in my presence (a computer and printers go on, TV goes on, answerphone display disrupted), and have an insatiable interest in UFOs. These and others are all typical benchmarks of a UFO abduction experience. A saying goes, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, flies like a duck, and swims like a duck, most likely it is a duck.

Your book shows a lot of mysterious "scoop marks" on people. You say these are "fleshy fingerprints" and evidence of a UFO abduction. Can't these kinds of scars be left by more mundane adventures?

One could, if they were not intimately connected with a UFO abduction experience. I have many many scoop photographs from alleged abductees. They look identical, except some vary in size. They're located in typical places on the body. They appear anomalously and synonamously with a UFO experience. In my case, the scoop appeared overnight after dreaming of having my leg operated on. My doctor examined it and could not explain it. He referred me to a dermatologist who tried to tell me that I had had a recent punch biopsy because it was fresh and was healing. The connection between an abduction and the scoopmark may be anecdotal, but such provides strong circumstantial physical evidence that the two are connected, as do other anomalous bruises, cuts, and blood that appear synonamously with the UFO experience that begin like that.

I may have. I will leave that up to my peers and readers to decide. I waited many years of building a reputation for objective investigation of the nuts and bolts side of the phenomenon before going public with my family UFO and paranormal experiences. One must realize that back in my early days of investigation, I rejected any paranormal experience as being imaginative or Satanic, from a fundamentalist theological position, which I no longer hold.

In my early days, I also dismissed my own experiences as dreams or imaginations, except for a 1947 daylight disk sighting, but even then, I did not admit to seeing it publicly. I believed that admitting family UFO sightings and paranormal phenomena would compromise my reputation as an objective researcher. Also, you should understand that I didn't even know about many of the things my family had experienced until much later on.

At the time, when UFOs, or flying disks, as they were called, appeared in the newspapers, I believed that they were experimental aircraft. I laughed when my father told me that they were extraterrestrial in origin. Because my father's experiences involved OBEs, I did not take his experiences seriously.

You undercovered a lot of psychic phenomena occurring to Betty as well as to yourself. I really do not know except that they do. One can speculate that the close proximity to a UFO or to UFO entities somehow enhances latent psychic abilities enabling one to see and experience phenomena that are normally not received, and or, conversely, that the phenomena is a visible tip of an ongoing monitoring process being carried on by the alien entities.

The Grays, according to what they told Betty, are workers for the Nordics and are in reality a form of homo sapiens. Betty was told that they actually are mature human fetuses extracted from surrogate human mothers and placed in an artifical womb.

The Elders, according to their appearance, seem to be equivalent to what other abductees call the Nordics. Both have long blonde or gray hair, perfect complexions, striking blue eyes, and are dressed in white robes rather than the skin-tight overalls that the Grays wear. They seem to be in control of the Grays and other types of entities that are reported.

One of the things you found was that Ufo abductions were family affairs. They happen more than once to a person, usually begin in childhood, and affect all members of a family. Why does this happen? Why do "they" follow families?

I do not have the proper credentials to speculate about the biological reasons for this. The late Dr. Neal, a gynecologist, who studied abduction cases did speculate. Rather than quote from his rather detailed hypothesis, which uses technical terms not readily understood by your readers, he states that the entities seem to be analyzing selected gene sequences, perhaps to identify mutant genes which could be used to alter the genetic pool of future generations. This could be accomplished through selective breeding.

He also stated that initial blood samples, bone marrow aspirations, and tissue samples, are reportedly taken between ages five and twenty. These could be used for specific genetic studies on the chromosones of abductees as a follow-up from another generation to see a certain pattern is consistent within a particular family. He also mentioned that the areas where scoop are taken are rich in bone marrow.

That there is a symbiotic relation between humans and entities somehow (and this is open to speculation) their survival is dependent on our survival. The ecological balance of the Earth will eventually cause Earth's lifeforms to become sterile. The increase in alien activity since the explosion of the atomic bomb (the operations being done on humans and animals) is their response to the situation as we would, perhaps, respond to a lifeform on Earth threatened with extinction. Also that humans are more than flesh and blood and will continue to evolve after death. We learn that Betty's experience with The One, in a world of light, and OBE abductions to another dimension, and their similarity to what is reported by near death experiences, hint that this other dimension may be where we will reside after death.

If this is true, humans may be the larval form, or breeding stock, for this other dimension. This possibility is also supported by the facts that the humanoid structure of the entities and the near-identical appearance of the Nordics to humans, that some abductees are being trained on consoles, what appears to be a future assignment in the next world, that the content of the abduction and cattle mutilation scenarios are strikingly similar to the breeding and maintaining of a herd for future purposes.

Perhaps the dragonflies from a dimension of air are returning to the dimension of water from where they originated to tell their larval form that the pond is getting very dirty and is endangering larval life. If the larvae did not clean up the pond, there will be no more dragonflies. This may be the symbiotic connection between humans and the alien entities.
