Test Your Interpersonal Style with
Scenario #1: The Big One
The worst California earthquake predictions have turned out to be all too optimistic. You are
trapped in the burning rubble of a nearly-collapsed hotel in downtown San Francisco, a mere 12
miles from the epicenter of "The Big One" — which registered an apocalyptic 8.1 on the Richter
Scale. You have miraculously survived, but powerful aftershocks are expected. Surrounded by
the dead, dying, and injured as raging flames consume much of the city that was your home, the
decisions you make truly will be a matter of life and death.
While listening to the desperate voices and cries for help from those injured in the burning rubble,
you realize that attempting to rescue them could harm your own prospects for survival. Do you ignore their pleas and try to make your way to safety, or do you stay where you are?
